Isaac Stone Fish is an internationally recognized expert on Asia, compliance, ESG and strategy consultant, influential opinion writer, fluent Mandarin speaker, and skilled public communicator. Stone Fish is the CEO and founder of Strategy Risks, a company which quantifies corporate exposure to China. He is also a Washington Post Global Opinions contributing columnist, an on-air contributor to CBSN, a visiting fellow at the Atlantic Council, and the author of a monthly column on China risk for Barron's. Previously he served as Foreign Policy Magazine's Asia Editor: he managed coverage of the region, and wrote about the politics, economics, and international affairs of China, Japan, and the Koreas. Formerly a Beijing correspondent for Newsweek, Stone Fish spent seven years living in China prior to joining Foreign Policy. He was also previously a senior fellow at the Asia Society's Center on U.S.-China Relations. Stone Fish frequently presents on and moderates panels on subjects including U.S. policy towards Asia, Chinese economic reform, China’s political economy, the relations among China, North Korea, and the U.S., human rights issues in Xinjiang, and Beijing's influence in America, among others, at events around the world.Besides publishing in Foreign Policy, Stone Fish’s articles have also appeared in The New York Times, the Washington Post, The Atlantic, The Guardian, Slate, Foreign Affairs, The New Republic, Politico Magazine, The Daily Beast, Time, and the Los Angeles Times. Stone Fish is a graduate of Columbia University, where he studied Chinese literature. He is also a Truman National Security Project fellow, an alumni of the World Economic Forum Global Shaper's program, and a term member at the Council on Foreign Relations. He is writing a book about Beijing's influence on America (Knopf, 2022).
