I helped production and post-production teams work together from anywhere using Hedge’s suite of apps along with their favorite creative apps.I also built up and cultivated the internal Support team – comprised of team members from various disciplines – and shaped the voice and rhythms of conversations between our team and our customers.

I was in charge of editing, reviewing, and publishing user manuals for Hedge’s entire suite of apps, but I was the principal author for the PostLab, Mimiq, DropOff, and Arctic manuals.I also developed a Style Guide, which the company applied to all written pieces for internal or external audiences to enhance and maintain consistency and quality.The goal was to write usable articles for people, not just engineers. The outcome was that customers could quickly find the steps needed to experience the immediate benefits of using Hedge’s apps in their workflow. Doing so improved customer satisfaction, empowered the Sales team to tackle difficult workflow questions from prospects, and reduced the support load.

As a Workflow Architect, I helped customers integrate Hedge’s apps into their workflows, guided them on speeding up their workflows, and demystified elements of their existing workflows in their favorite creative apps.As a Product Specialist, I solved deep, niche-level workflow problems for customers using Hedge’s suite of apps. To that end, Hedge entrusted me with direct access to their Engineering teams and the C-suite. I specialized in working with PostLab, Mimiq, Arctic, and DropOff customers.In both capacities, extensive workflow, performance tuning, and troubleshooting knowledge was required for:• Avid Media Composer – when used with third-party storage (NAS, SAN, and even DAS) and NEXIS storage• Apple’s Pro Apps – Final Cut Pro, Motion• Adobe Creative Cloud – Premiere Pro, After Effects• Storage – local or shared (on-premises and in the cloud)

In concert with Product Owners and Engineering, I defined and continually refined quality assurance tests, processes, and reporting. While my primary focus was on PostLab (Classic and 2.0), Mimiq, and Arctic, I was frequently requested to perform quality assurance on new features and updates for other apps in Hedge's catalog.

I started with Hedge by writing for their social media channels, occasionally contributing to PostLab's workflow documentation, and promoting PostLab as a remote collaboration platform during the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was the year 2000. I was hired to be the company’s very first IT Guy. But shifting needs meant shifting roles, so I adapted accordingly.Over the course of 17 years, I designed, built, and upgraded this company’s facilities and workflows to support an expanding team of creative professionals, including illustrators, graphic designers, and a dedicated production and post-production team (video and audio). I also established my own creative niches around multimedia and web development, then as a video producer and post-production generalist. Finally, I assisted the company in successfully navigating two major restructures and maintaining business continuity.As Multimedia Developer, I created cross-platform sales and educational experiences on CD-ROM using Adobe (née Macromedia) Director and Flash. Later, CD-ROMs became web applications made in Dreamweaver with Java Server Pages and Servlets using MySQL storage.As digital video delivery progressed with DVDs, I developed an affordable DVD-Video authoring workflow using software-based encoders, multi-disc duplicators, and known best-in-class optical media.In 2003, I started supporting the Creative Director who used Avid MCXpress for Windows NT, some Avid SCSI-based RAIDs, TargaVision hardware, and a mix of analog and digital gear for video editing. When that lone editor was awarded a massive video project from a Fortune 500 global branded food company with a tight deadline, I volunteered to help. The rest is history.I was officially promoted to IT Director in 2004. Anything related to information technology or video workflows eventually reached my desk to research, purchase, implement, and support.I moved to New York in 2012 and created the company’s first remote workflow, enabling me to support the team from afar. I returned to the home office twice a year to produce two large events balancing duties as both content producer and technical director.In 2017, we parted ways and I established isaact.co.
