Current• As an Elections Readiness Lead, pair with teams among 600+ person engineering group on root cause analysis to improve resiliency at peak traffic• Spearheaded modernization of distributed 2022 Elections publishing and page configuration systems used to publish millions of real-time updates over dozens of election nights for hundreds of millions of readers• Architected newsroom data acquisition framework, called Skyscraper, that empowers engineers and editors to cover breaking news from one-off requests for investigations to government data crawlers across hundreds of pages used by the NYT Needle • Led development of data entry app for 2024 Polling Averages coverage of US Presidential race for millions of readers• As Architecture Review Board Chairperson, led a group of 16 engineers to review RFCs and collaborated with senior management to improve the technical decisions and foundational architecture of the New York Times• Led effort to develop a new solution for platform-integrated developer previews to streamline and empower engineers across NYT to see their features execute in a realistic context, enabling more reliable testing of interactive content prior to publication• Defined roadmap and prioritized work as Tech Lead for improving supportability of NYT’s primary interactive quiz building tool, called Adventure, unlocking capacity to explore new innovative content and deepen engagement with millions of readers
