Tools for designing persuasive technologies are becoming increasingly available with the "explosion in innovation" in areas of social networking, ubiquitous computing and ambient intelligence. Yet most of the current persuasive technologies available either do not make explicit the theoretical foundation upon which they are developed or do not have one at all [Torning and Oinas-Kukkonen 2009]. Consequently, attention has been given to investigations and the development of fundamental principles and approaches for persuasive systems development, but little progress has been made [Fogg 2009]. The introduction of the Persuasive Systems Design, PSD model [Oinas-Kukkonen and Harjumaa 2009] for example has provided a guide for the analysis and design of persuasive technologies. Nonetheless its full potential is not yet realised since it is a high level model and thus does not provide stepwise methods and approaches that can be used for analysing each stage of the model. There is therefore the need for further research work to simplify the PSD model into a tool that can guide a systematic design of persuasive systems.In line with this, my research aims at providing tools that can guide the analysis of the persuasion context in the PSD model. My initial finding demonstrates that the 3-Dimensional Relationship between Attitude and Behaviour (3D-RAB) model [Wiafe et al 2011] is capable of guiding the analysis of the persuasion context. Also, I am conducting investigations to establish road maps for selecting persuasive system features and methods that can be used in developing systems which can adapt to the changing needs of users.
