During my time at the Durham ox I have been trained and worked in lots of different areas of the pub. I started on pass taking out food and then began to work my way onto the floor working and looking after tables of customers and making sure they are more than satisfied with their experience at the ox and with the food itself. I also have been stationed on the bar numerous times and I am able to work the tills and card machines. I often look after and private dining parties which range from 10- 22 people. I ensure this table is looked after in every aspect so they can have a wonderful experience while dining and enjoying each others company. Other groups I have looked after involve wedding receptions, weddings themselves, wakes and big dinners for family reunions and christenings. These have involved groups from 15 - 90 customers. With these I have looked after, served and cleaned up after the events as well as helping to set up and organize. I’ve been trained on how to properly serve wine to a table and lightly trained on wines. As well as beers and the coffees including alcoholic coffees.

I joined tomahawk after the first lockdown which caused many challenges such as working after a long time of being furloughed as well as abiding by new COVID restrictions. I worked throughout eat out to help out which was a very busy period of time however I was consistent and never failed to turn up to work and I even picked up extra shifts. I have an excellent relationship with many of my coworkers including other waiting staff, managers, and the chefs. I also have had many great reviews for my service online from customers who I served. I have adapted to many changes such as a change in system and changes to the menus. As I worked at tomahawk I have been trained on the coffee machine as well as multiple cocktail trainings as well as having a few shifts running the bar with supervision in case I needed help. I also know how to clean out the glass washer and coffee machine as well as close down the bar and the restaurant.

I Worked on the pass and front of house, served food to customers, welcomed them into the business and also occasionally helped out with the Pot washing. I worked at the oak tree consistently for just over a year and I had a very good relationship with my co-workers and the customers, whether they were locals, regulars or newcomers. I have taken orders and seated tables, as well as bringing drinks to the tables and I am confident in using a card machine. I am able to set and clear tables for the next day, more customers or for breakfast the following morning; as well as the Private Dining Room.
