I am currently a recent graduate who studied English Literature at Cambridge University. I have held several jobs while an undergraduate including as an English language teacher, a cleaner, and a mentor for the Pegasus Scholars program which supported educationally disadvantaged pupils with the transition to Cambridge. I have also worked as a fundraiser and volunteered as a refugee support worker for four years -prompting my decision to take a beginners course in Arabic in my 2nd year.Creative writing is a longstanding interest, and part of my reason for seeking work in the publishing industry, especially in audiobooks and children's literature. I was shortlisted for the H.G Wells Prize for fiction and received full marks for my EPQ novella 'Lighting Shadows'. More recently I have coached Cambridge's Slam Poetry team and secured a spot in the national unislam finals!I am also interested in roles in policy, especially involving education and young people. This political interest stems from my own experience of the A-Level grading algorithm 2023, and my subsequent roles in education as a TEFL teacher, mentor, and English tutor.
