Conducted habitat restoration, invasive plant monitoring, and lead water chemistry labs to De Anza college students. Monitored water quality at 7 different sites in the Stevens Creek watershed. Assisted in low flow creek electrofishing. Worked with the native plant nursery once a week to seed collect, seed clean, and propagate.

Explored diverse methods for monitoring human wastewater contamination to provide indicators that best determine the most accurate and efficient indicator for measuring wastewater pollution. In this position I conducted extensive literature reviews to specifically understand the best methods for evaluating sediments for pollutants and the most common indicators found in sediments. Based on my findings, I wrote a section to a meta-analysis paper that is to be published upon completion.

Extracted DNA from redwood roots, performed PCR, and gel electrophoresis to identify soilmicrobes. Compared microbe diversity and abundance to the old forest ecosystem.

Translated complex scientific information for technical and non technical audiences, met with technical experts, developed new tool demo video, and crafted a blog article. Used arcGIS in conjunction with CECS data tools to identify the amount of runoff that can be produced with restorative treatments at different project sites within a watershed.

Worked to improve the sustainability of campus operations, systems, and practices through applied projects.

Provided assistance and mentoring to middle/high school students on STEM projects.

Maintained store cleanliness, helped customers on register, and trained new employees.

Responsibilities included maintaining a thriving community garden as well as planning and hosting sustainability events for students.
