I am a singer and songwriter interested in understanding the world from the individual and social perspective. I have a BA in psychology from Universidad del Valle de Guatemala. I worked in child development, educational testing, and clinical psychology in Guatemala City. After moving to the United States, I worked in social services and child welfare, primarily helping immigrant families living in New Jersey. I volunteered to help build the Guatemalan immigrant rights movement. I became more interested in advocacy and changed jobs accordingly.My resume reflects my wide range of interests. The changes in my field of work show the path I have followed in trying to make life better for my community. I went from helping individuals to the macro level with advocacy. Music has always been a part of my life. While it is not easy to make a living performing, I returned to school to pursue a BA in music. My goal is to apply to graduate school for music therapy. At the same time, I continue to advocate and use music for my activism.
