Working in the Sustainable Places departments across North Hertfordshire and North London, where I screen planning applications and allocate them to the relevant technical specialists. Screening involves checking planning applications against National and Local Planning Policies in addition to using GIS software to identify if the sites exist in areas of significance such as flood zones.

Weekly and monthly tasks include maintaining, cleaning, and servicing equipment. I worked alongside some of the top researchers in the world along with fellow students.

I prepared practical experiments for school year groups ranging from year 9 up to 6th form. I also supported teachers in the classroom, setting up and assist with the practical experiment. I carried out stock checks and chemical audits while helping to organise the prep room. I was also responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of all equipment. Here I trained as a workplace first aider as students would often come to the prep room to seek assistance, usually with mild burns and cuts.
