Isabel Ross has over 14 years' experience leading multisectoral, multistrategic public health, health promotion and community development programs. She has worked with, and for, state and federal government, international aid organisations, not-for-profit organisations, social enterprises, professional associations, and community groups. Her experience stretches across regional and remote Australia, Southern Africa, South Asia and the Pacific.Isabel's passion is to work with communities and organisations to help them identify their strengths, and build upon them through sustainable, community-led approaches.One of Isabel's greatest skills is communication - using her scientific and creative expertise, to deliver high quality plans, proposals, stories and reports that engage a wider audience in support of community-driven action.By pairing her passion with her skills, Isabel has been witness to grassroots change in the areas of injury prevention, physical activity and nutrition, tobacco control, income generation, sexual health and gender-based violence, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), mental health, and alcohol harm reduction.More specifically, Isabel has:• Designed and delivered small, localised and large-scale national health promotion programs.• Established sustainable data collection systems and trained staff to use these systems to assess need, impact and areas for improvement.• Used this data as an evidence base for strategic and operational plans, successful funding submissions, and stakeholder reports.• Achieved huge reach in marketing program activities and impacts through professional reports, newspaper articles, website updates, blogs, facebook posts, and promotional flyers, ultimately helping to attract and retain donors and partnerships.• Nurtured the skills of the staff with whom she has worked to ensure that they, their organisations, and their target communities, continue to soar long after she has left.Isabel's current roles include freelance consultant, Mental Health Promotion Coordinator with WACHS-Midwest, Chair of AHPA's Mentoring Program Working Group, Chair of Beachlands Community Incorporation, Secretary of the Geraldton Suicide Prevention Action Group, and a Mum to two high-energy girls.Isabel is an Accredited member of the International Union for Health Promotion and Education, and Australian Health Promotion Association. She is a Master Instructor in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) and Youth MHFA, and a qualified instructor in QPR Suicide Prevention.
