Immigration Paralegal
- Advocate for immigrant populations through the preparation of various affirmative applications such as U-Visa, Adjustments of Status, VAWA, Naturalizations, Consular Processing and more.- Prepare FOIA requests in order to examine client criminal history, border apprehensions, deportation proceedings, legal status and other personal identifying information.- Evaluate client criminal record to determine which charges to disclose pursuant to USCIS form requirements; Research state and local police and court records request processes; Conduct requests to obtain client records.- Interview clients using trauma-informed communication skills to guide writing a personal declaration in U-Visa and VAWA matters. - Co-lead through office and system updates; including case management software transition, Legal Service Agreement updates pursuant to Oregon Professional Liability Fund requirements, and assist management in reconciliation of client past due balances.- 2023 Immigration P.L.A.N Certificate Holder.
