I host the FT’s Working It podcast, a weekly show full of workplace advice and tools to help us navigate post pandemic careers - and the uncertainty of it all. We've added some newsier angles recently, with quick turnaround reactions to big FT stories and analysis and takeaways. And I write the Working It newsletter, arriving in inboxes every Wednesday, which we've relaunched with more buzz, bite and an advice column called Office Therapy. I have written a book about all things career and workplace, The Future Proof Career- published by HarperCollins in April 2024. I chair/moderate or appear on panels and talk about the future of work, office life, management, leadership and all the weird stuff that goes on in workplaces. I am editorial lead for the FT Women in Business forum, and help plan events for the wonderful network that the team have built there. Earlier in my career I won a Wincott Foundation award for my personal finance work for the FT. It doesn't get better than that for a reporter, so I switched to editing: the hours were less punishing and my kids were small. Since then I've had great jobs on FT Weekend, as deputy editor of FT Magazine, then on Life & Arts and then associate editor of the Opinion section. I got into the management/workplace arena as editor of FT Work & Careers from 2018 until early 2023 - met all sorts of amazing people and edited some great copy.A long time ago I was personal finance editor and business editor of the Independent on Sunday. My Gen Z children don’t want a corporate career, so part of my mission is to sing the praises of salaried worklife as actually appealing and interesting- because it really is.
