About Isabel Díaz Forero

Environmental Engineer graduated with honours at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana of Bucaramanga, Colombia (South America). I completed my master studies, MSc. in Environment and Resource Management, in 2006 at the Vrije Universiteit of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. In December of 2011, I successfully defended my PhD. Thesis entitled: Influence of abiotic and biotic factors at patch and landscape scale on bumblebees (Bombus Spp.) in semi-natural meadows, and obtained the degree of PhD in Environmental Conservation at Eesti Maaülikool of Tartu, Estonia.During my PhD. Studies, I participated as a speaker in many international academic and scientific events. In addition, I have five publications in recognized international scientific journals. I have professional experience as lecturer in higher education, and also I have worked as an environmental advisor. Furthermore, I am enthusiastic and passionate about humanitarian and social development projects.Specialties: Biodiversity conservation, pollinator decline, bumblebees, land-use changes, landscape ecology, natural and semi-natural habitats, environmental conservation, environmental impact assessment.
