Currently, Director of technology and systems (CIO) of the Instituto de Empresa, where I have led its digital transformation with innovative projects in Cloud Services, Digital Education, online Portals, Analytics, mobility, Web services, Global Connectivity, etc. that positions IE as a leader and the education sector.Previously, CIO of Ernst & Young Spain and Portugal and member of the Global Board of EY-ITI have had international positions in global organizations and I have managed budgets of 9 - 14 M€ and led teams of 30-80 people.In addition to my knowledge of Education and services sectors, thought previous experience in management consulting and pharma, I have experience in development of operations, management, and control and Business Process Improvement.

In February 2002, I joined Ernst & Young (EY) Spain as IT Director. During the first years, the Technology Strategy consisted on the modernization of the local technology platforms in alignment with the Global Policies. Balancing budget constraints with mandatory new software investments, the local technology platform were positively certified by the Global EY Technology Organization.In 2005, EY started its transformation towards a Global Technology Architecture. Spain was selected as the European pilot for the evolution. During a three years period, all local systems migrated to the global platforms. The Spanish experience was used as the reference practice for the implementation of the same architecture and software solutions in the rest of European countries. Our local technology teams were participating in the projects of the rest of European countries acting as experienced advisors.The recognition of the results achieved in Spain allowed me to take an additional new role in the Global Technology Organization of EY, being named Global Security Officer of EY, leading the definition of the Cybersecurity Prevention and Defend Strategy.During the period 2008 – 2010, a new wave of technology projects move all platforms and services to a global organizational model. I was named member of the Board of European CIOs in charge of the Regional Technology Services and Operations.The team under my lead evolved from the initial group of 30 local people towards +100 people when I assumed Global and European roles. The management model was really challenging and distributed as most of my direct lines were based in international sites.My abilities in team building and people development were key in the successful management of this technology organization.

Joined SmithKline Beecham Pharma in 1993 as Technology Manager for Commercial, Sales and Marketing solutions. Having in scope the Design and Deployment of the new CRM, Sales-ERP, Sales Dash-Board solutions and many others peripheral solutions in the area.

In 1989, I was invited to take an internship in Arthur Andersen simultaneously to my last year in the University. Once graduated in Computer Science, I was assigned to the Global Technology Team of Andersen Consulting in the Chicago Headquarters.In an intensive period of new experiences and access to international engagements, I was having an accelerated global career till the level of Team Lead.
