Drawing from her firsthand experiences, both as a former soccer player and a certified first responder, Isabel Gutierrez recognized the dire consequences of untreated sports injuries. While still in college, she founded Vistendo Inc. to create solutions that identify early warning signs of sports injuries and illnesses. Gutierrez has served as the Principal Investigator for four clinical research grants and a clinical study in collaboration with the US Defense Health Agency, US Defense Threat Reduction Agency, and US Department of Air Force. As a result of her accomplishments, Gutierrez has become one of the youngest Distinguished Alumni of the Cal State Universities, selected as CPP Prominent Women by Cal Poly Pomona (where she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering), and recognized as 2023 SDC 25 Young Entrepreneur of the Year. Gutierrez is a mentor for university students, volunteer elementary school teacher, member of Beach City Sports co-ed flag football teams, member of Classic Kickboxing, and an advocate for women and minority participation in STEM and entrepreneurship.
