As a writer, writing about myself is the most challenging. Here's the most important parts:- I'm a small town Midwesterner (Scottsbluff, NE is my home) living the city reporter (Denver, CO is my second home) life. - I've written a few stories, see below for those links. I'm currently the Editor-in-Chief of Metropolitan State University of Denver's student-run newspaper, The Metropolitan. I interned as a reporter at Colorado Community Media in summer 2024. I've covered Colorado legislature, local and national elections, environment, cannabis and investigated MSU Denver's campus safety programs, the university's chair removal of the Chicano Studies department and the alleged sexual harassment committed by a student government member. Most I did without crying.- I love to lead and found a real passion for it as a store manager and as an Editor-in-Chief; I will always have my staff's back and I will go to bat for them.- I am the proud owner of a dog, a snake and a tortoise. I love animals more than anything.- As a first-gen Chicana student, making my family proud is my main motivation. We've been through a lot together. And I'd do this life thing all over again as long as I got to have them be my family in the next one.
