I'm a Language Specialist at DeepLI have a degree equivalent to a Bachelor in Translation from the Würzburger Dolmetscherschule, with a special focus on Life Sciences, and a Master of Science in Translation and Computer-Assisted Translation Tools from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh.At DeepL, I'm responsible for answering language-related questions, creating guidelines for external editors, working on projects, evaluating external editors' work, testing our models and doing lots of independent research into language topics. There's something new to discover all the time!At my previous job at TransPerfect, my responsibilities included proofreading of translations of documents relating to: clinical trials, medical journals, newsletters, HR content, advertising, web content, video subtitles and voice-over text, with a special focus on accuracy, consistency, spelling and grammar. Other tasks included the maintenance of our termbase and glossaries for EN->DE, responding to linguistic queries from clients and project managers, carrying out third-party reviews, attending client calls to discuss our translation methods and project handling, the creation and maintenance of client-specific style guides and the training of new hires in all of the above, as well as carrying out language quality reviews of external vendors and providing feedback as needed.
