I was a preceptor for MCB 305, an upper division genetics and developmental biology course at the University of Arizona. I helped Molecular and Cellular Biology (MCB) juniors and seniors understand difficult genetics and developmental biology concepts. I also graded and gave feedback for student worksheets, held content review sessions prior to every exam, and created study guide worksheets for students who needed extra help.

As a Molecular and Cellular Biology (MCB) Mentor, I mentored four incoming MCB freshmen and helped them adjust to life at the University of Arizona. I would meet with my mentees at least twice per month and I would check in on them via text at least once per week. I talked with them about classes, student employment opportunities, time management, and more. In May 2021, I was elected to be the MCB Mentor Leader. As the MCB Mentor Leader, I organized and hosted social events for mentors and mentees to attend.

I taught three groups of ten high school students enrolled in STAR Lab the best practices for conducting university-level research. I worked with them to create well written research papers and posters. I also taught them presentation skills and helped them gain confidence in themselves and their research.
