Serves as a Field Instructor as part of a seasonal program and works in coordination with fellow field instructors, field coordinators, and senior program staff. Assists in planning, development, and execution of RMFI’s trail, restoration, and field education programs. Upholds work quality as per established standards and ensures safety, and an enjoyable experience for RMFI Program participants. Reports directly to RMFI Program Managers.Serves as a member of the stewardship work crew and provides managerial oversight to the work crews and volunteers in the completion of trail and restoration work, observing field safety standards, and achieving all project milestones.Administers project orientations to participants and properly estimated volunteer and staff requirements to ensure timely completion of work; contributes in pre-and post-project activities including briefings, evaluations, and training.Efficaciously trains and develops new field and staff interns, executes RMFI Program outreach efforts and implements environmental education curriculum on selected programs.Rigorously conducts Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) to ensure the highest degree of safety for all workers in the field and conducts staff training to develop skills in-line with the program objectives and goals.Maintains timely and effective communication with the program managers, field coordinators, and additional staff; keeps detailed work logs with photographs to ensure thorough documentation of the work.Efficiently manages tools, equipment, and food logistics in the field and organizes fast and efficient plans to complete jobs in a timely and organized manner.

Hired to sustain aesthetically pleasing physical appearance of the UCCS grounds while keeping up with general maintenance and positive relations with other students and management. Managed and retained a stock of inventory needed for any repair/replacement situation that may arise.
