At the Florida Natural History Museum Herbarium, I can help with organizing and labeling of specimens in the bryophytes and vascular plants collection. I am actively learning about the different specimens I am handling. I pay attention to make sure none of the specimens are in the wrong species box.• • Meticulously organized the bryophyte by their scientific name in boxes for storage.• Accessioned specimens into the museum collection.• Reinforced the specimen envelopes by mounting them on card stock.• Mounted vascular plants onto cardstock paper.• Transcribed information from specimen labels into the Consortium of Bryophyte Herbarium.• Translated transcriptions in Spanish and Portuguese when needed.• Imaged specimens with a fixed mounted camera.• Catalogued images to the Consortium of Bryophyte Herbarium.

• Enhanced access to the microfilm collection held at the Latin American and Caribbean Collection (LACC).• Identified collection strengths and collection gaps to inform planning for future digitization projects.• Expanded the LACC micro film collection data.• Searched a variety of bibliographic sources and databases (UF catalog, dLOC, and WorldCat) to locate digital holdings. • Conducted shelf reads to confirm physical holdings of reels and identify missing reels.• Reviewed UF Catalog records to determine if they accurately reflected the holdings on the cabinet. • Entered information from the reels and promptly cleaned and reformatted them.

• Supported collections by reporting and maintaining the Missing Items Search Procedures.• Managed the circulation desk at the LACC, one of the nation’s largest collections dedicated to Latin America and the Caribbean.• Used ALMA to process fulfillments and to manage patrons book returns and check out.• Provided information to library patrons about library resources and helped them locate materials in our catalog. • Maintained organized cataloging and circulation systems to keep accurate inventory records. • Searched the UF catalog to determine the location of library materials and if they are available for checkout.• Served as the first point of contact for visitors, ensuring a welcoming and positive environment.
