Hi, I’m Isabella, a Dominican-American from Orlando, Florida, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice with a minor in Philosophy at Northeastern University in Boston, MA.My decision to study criminology stems from a deep passion for understanding the intersections of law, justice, and societal impact. I’m particularly driven by how legal systems shape communities and how reforms can enhance equity. Recently, I began a research position with Dr. Amy Farrell, Director of Criminology and Criminal Justice, focusing on forced criminality, furthering my interest in criminal justice reform. I am also a member of Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity, where I aim to deepen my understanding of the legal field and expand my knowledge of cultural and legal issues.As a volunteer Event Coordinator and Creative Director for Apoyando a la Casa de la Anunciación in the Dominican Republic, I organized events and raised critical funds for communities in need, strengthening my commitment to advocacy. Additionally, my work as a digital artist, managing independent commissions, has honed my problem-solving, creativity, and client engagement—skills that I believe will benefit my pursuit of a career in law.
