I manage four knowledge communities (interiors, technology, aging, and project delivery, in addition to some healthcare projects). Projects include online and print publications, conferences, and knowledge delivery. I oversee budgets and engage volunteer leaders in strategic planning. I was also involved in establishing an email marketing campaign that targeted new AIA members for participation in the knowledge communities as a member benefit.

I managed communication efforts for AIA's 21 Knowledge Communities, or special interest groups for architects. I created and distributed email blasts through Real Magnet, and was involved with social media. I also maintained website content on AIA KnowledgeNet through Higherlogic. Half way through my time as a specialist, I transitioned to managing these efforts for a few select groups.

Greater Omaha Area

I was responsible for the design, creation and distribution of monthly personal and commercial insurance newsletters and email blasts through MailChimp. I updated the agency's Wordpress website, wrote press releases and composed content for blog articles. I also managed the social media accounts including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

Under Professor Talan in the School of Communication, I observed his undergraduate PR writing, internship and social media classes. I managed and recorded grades on Blackboard, reviewed and edited students’ writing assignments; and scanned and posted class reading articles each week.

Greater Omaha Area

I reviewed content and updated the website. I created and distributed the monthly Parent Newsletter email. I also drafted press releases and photographed school functions such as Marian's annual fundraiser MarianFEST and Field Day.

I managed reservations for ballet and play performances at the Creighton University Fine Arts box office. I also collected tickets and money from patrons on performance nights.

I managed the partnership between the BCBS of NE and their adopt-a-school partner, Conestoga Magnet Elementary School. Through this project, I oversaw production of the annual calendar and holiday card created by student artwork; organized the annual holiday event with the school; and designed the slideshow for the holiday party that included photos from past charity events.

Greater Omaha Area

I collected results for the organization’s 2010 Candidate Survey regarding Nebraska Legislature candidates’ views on children’s issues such as health, education, safety and economic stability. I also produced a video interview with a candidate for Nebraska legislature on the foster care system. Other responsibilities included reviewing and developing content for the website, and updating their media contacts list.

Washington D.C. Metro Area

I created a weekly social media report for the staff that featured public opinions of the agency’s clients on all social media platforms. I collected and generated content for the agency’s Twitter account. I researched media coverage of clients, including but not limited to, the Women Airforce Service Pilots of WWII. I also conducted administrative tasks such as front desk staffing and updating subscriptions.
