Over the course of several weeks, I and a cohort of Hunter College students learned and studied about the history of anti-semitism. In February we traveled to the National Holocaust Museum in DC to learn more about the genocide of the Jewish people and other minorities by the Nazis in World War 2.

Assisted with management of family programs. Conducted research in relation to Jewish Art, Jewish Figures, Jewish History and current/past exhibitions. Traveled to an Inner-City school and helped 2nd graders develop art projects inspired by works at the Museum.

I originally started as an assistant catechist for the third grade. I'd help out with lesson plans and activities to keep the students engaged. If a child was struggling to understand material, I'd assist and tutor them when time permitted in the classroom. Later on, in my high school career I became a substitute for the first grade and eventually became that grade level teacher. Throughout my time there I worked with various age levels as well as children with special needs.

-Met weekly throughout the semester to read passages in the Torah and Talmud-Analyzed and discussed scripture that highlighted and interpreted the topic of love and romance in a Jewish context

Received intensive training on Jewish and Holocaust history. This included reading numerous articles and documents, as well as speaking with survivors. Practiced and memorized 90-minute gallery tour and pre-visit material. Visited NYC DOE schools and gave introductory lesson (pre-visit) to students grades 6-12. Later reconnected with those students to provide a guided gallery tour of the exhibit, 'The Holocaust: What Hate Can Do'.
