Isabella Alvarez is currently a first - year student at Ave Maria School of law. She graduated May 2021 with academic distinction at St. Thomas University. There, she obtained a Bachelor’s of Psychology and a minor in Political Science. Isabella is a highly motivated individual with a high sense of leadership who has a deep compassion for those around her. At St Thomas University, she fulfilled the positions: Event Chair and Vice President, simultaneously for the Psychology Club. She was also a school senator for three years and was appointed for the opportunity to run as student president for the School Government Association. Additionally, she was appointed to serve on the student - athlete advisory committee as a college cheerleader. Isabella spent her summers interning at Catholic Legal Services and The Child and Adolescent Mood and Anxiety Treatment (CAMAT) program in the Department of Psychology at the University of Miami. She also volunteered monthly with the homeless ministry from her local parish to feed over 500 displaced individuals each visit. She is excited for the opportunities to serve in her new community at Ave Maria School of law. Isabella plans on practicing family law when she obtains her Juris Doctorate. Her primary goal is to aid women in difficult financial, emotional, and abusive situations. She plans on not only legally advocating for women but also caring for their mental health.Isabella was born and raised in Miami, Florida, and is Cuban - American. She graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes Academy high school in the spring of 2017.
