As a full-time student, I don't know exactly what I want to dedicate my life to yet, but I know that I'm open to trying new things and working hard at projects I start. Currently, a sophomore at VCU majoring in Environmental Studies and Mass Comm with a concentration in advertising. I work at Trader Joe's and at VCU as an Assistant Trip Leader. I started college with the intention of becoming a doctor, as everyone else does, right? I then became involved with the Outdoor Adventure Program at VCU and learned about my love for the outdoors, and honest hard work; and that was enough to convince me to switch my major to Environmental Studies. After more time studying Environmental, I realized my hunger to learn wasn't satiated with just Environmental and I wanted to expand. I knew I enjoyed talking to people, networking, the possibility of travel being incorporated with my job, and I realized the importance of mass media and its evergrowing significance. This led me to double majoring in Mass Communications with a focus in advertising. I liked the idea of having something so applicable to become a degree under my belt, and I also liked the idea of the possible hustle and bustle that could come in the future from going down the advertising route. I believe that my education so far at VCU, as well as my work experience outside of academics, has prepared me and opened my mind to jobs in the outdoors, jobs working constantly with others, and learning what it is I truly want to dedicate my career to.
