I am an intern at Newport Bay Conservancy, a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and restoring Upper Newport Bay through education, research, and advocacy. I have been working there for 10 months, providing administrative support to help organize events and fundraisers, as well as creating educational materials to convey important information to service recipients.My internship has allowed me to apply and enhance my skills in project management, communication, and collaboration, as well as to gain valuable experience in environmental education and outreach. I have assisted with special events and programs, coordinated and managed volunteer activities for community service projects, and developed and executed social media campaigns and content creation. I have also assisted in designing and producing promotional materials, such as brochures, flyers, and posters, and organizing community outreach events, including workshops, presentations, and educational activities.As a biology major with a passion for neuroscience, I am eager to pursue a career in scientific research and innovation. I have 2.5+ years of research experience as a research assistant at UC Irvine. I have collaborated with research teams to develop project plans, code data, attend meetings and presentations, and allocate and manage laboratory space and resources. I have also completed research, compiled data, updated spreadsheets, and produced timely reports, as well as assisted with preparing project-related reports, presentations, and manuscripts. Additionally, I have maintained transgenic mice and performed various laboratory techniques, such as molecular biology, bench work, and data analysis and interpretation.My research experience has provided me with a solid foundation in neuroscience concepts and methodologies, as well as a proven track record of academic excellence. I have actively engaged in designing and executing experiments, conducting literature reviews, and presenting findings at conferences. This exposure has enabled me to develop strong critical thinking skills, a keen ability to analyze complex data, and a deep appreciation for ethical considerations within scientific research. I am also adept at conveying complex ideas to diverse audiences, whether it be through research papers, presentations, or engaging in scientific discussions.
