Working as a team to condition survey an document part of the Royal Photographic society collection for the V&A. The project involved photographing the 3,500 boxes contents, document object type, makers/ make the condition, identifying hazards and if the boxes need repackaging. There are objects and library material which creates a variety issues especially the wide range of hazards involved including, flammable material, asbestos and unknown chemicals as well as any risk to the collection from pests and mould. Additional responsibilities within the project was managing the conservation side of the project. Due to time and personal restrictions there was a minimum amount we could actually do such as the intervention against pests and mould were the main concerns through out the ongoing project. This involved creating a spreadsheet for the movement of boxes so we could track what was being done and where the boxes were. Both myself and the other collections assistant designed and edited the spreadsheets used to document the boxes as well the tracking of our progress and all the pallet information for the V&A to use for logistics. We have been self motivated and made sure that we have managed our time and our ensured that we informed and consulted various members of the conservation team for input in matters of the site and the care of the collection. I have assisted the BBC filming " Britain's greatest inventions" in one of the storage facilities in Wroughton. This involved working with the staff members of the BBC as well as members of the public before, during and after the event.
