Ever since I was young, I have always had a passion for figuring out how things work on my own. When people ask for help with something, even if I have very minimal experience with it, I offer my assistance and most of the time can help. This is one of the traits that makes me a valuable asset to any company. I think on my feet and am always willing to learn, whether that be on the job or my own personal time. Although I obtained a degree in music performance I have decided to take my career in a different direction. After taking computer science courses at the University of Denver as electives, I found another passion. After further discussion with mentors and professors I have decided to look into getting familiar with the cloud. I am currently completing both AWS and Snowflake certifications to help familiarize myself with the world of big data. So far I am very excited about my future career working in cloud data engineering. My experience in the world of music has really opened my eyes to many different skills that I believe are only attained through being a musician. As a musician, I had to practice a lot. I worked on one piece of music over the course of months, and a lot of times only had one chance to play it. The pressure to prove that those months of practice were worth that one performance was high, and through that I learned to perform well under pressure and build a confidence in my abilities. Companies need confident and serious people to help instill a confidence in their employees abilities. I am ready to work. And I am aware that going into the workforce isn't the end of my education, but rather a pathway to a new way of learning.
