The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is a federal agency responsible for enhancing Americans' health and well-being. It is the largest non-defense agency in budget and serves various stakeholders, including individuals and families, researchers, communities, and more. I am a student trainee for the Congressional Appropriations Branch (CAB). I support a team of experts in advancing the department's appropriations priorities by working closely with congressional appropriators and their staff. I oversee document compliance for CAB while facilitating process enhancements and providing administrative support.● Curate internal and external newsletters highlighting HHS appropriations activities.● Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for document 508 compliance for the Intranet site● Create and maintain templates for various Congressional Appropriations Branch (CAB) working documents.● Maintain internal and external stakeholder lists.● Manage the reporting requests tracker, which enables the branch to track Congressional requests included in annual appropriations bills.● Support continuous process improvement by updating, documenting, and maintaining CAB Standard Operations of Procedures, best practices, etc.● Support the CAB team in gathering information about members, legislative interests, etc.● Perform administrative tasks to support the CAB Chief and Team.
