Prior to attending college, I spent my high school years taking odd jobs, participating in community projects, and being an avid member of my town's local Girl Scout Troop. My various experiences in service based industries have allowed me to see life from many different perspectives and gain knowledge by meeting others. During my later years of high school I completed the highest accomplishment in Girl Scouting, the Girl Scout Gold Award. My project was based on bringing music to the elderly community of my town, working closely with nursing homes and community organizations to bring together two very different groups of people; high school students, and elderly community members. I have continued to love both helping others and participating in music as the years have gone by, and I view everyday as an opportunity to be better than before. The triumphs and the trials of life build a mosaic of perspectives to make me the person I am today, and I would love to be given the opportunity to tell their stories.
