Chief Information Officer
As the Chief Information Officer I lead a diverse team of individuals to manage, maintain and optimise our existing technology as well as identify areas for strategic investment and/or advancement by working across multi-disciplinary teams. I lead our efforts in digital transformation and business intelligence across the enterprise. For last few years, we absorbed the Logistics department under my remit and I now oversee our global logistics team supporting facilities across the globe in partnership with local leadership to support the successful and safe delivery of services. Our role within the organisation is to ensure that teams have access to the right information, have visibility into their data in real time to help drive informed and transparent decision making as well as learning and process improvement cycles. We work collaboratively in partnership to define business problems and ensure we are solving the right problem with people, process and technology. To help do this, I lead a rolling and annual strategic planning process to forecast and resource against our critical projects as they relate to our broader organisational goals and strategy. In addition to my role leading the Information and Technology team, I am a member of the organisation's senior leadership team. This team is responsible for defining organisational goals, strategy and overall stewardship and governance.
Director Of Information And Technology
I designed and implemented a new resourcing strategy to identify and up-skill less experienced individuals to become skilled and valuable members of our Information and Technology team and reduce the organisations reliance on expensive external vendors. I was responsible for managing and coaching this diverse team to execute on new technology projects across our stack as well the day-to-day maintenance of the organisation's informational systems. In collaboration with our Chief Information Officer, we developed an IT roadmap through a new strategic planning initiative by working across the different business units to define business and organisational priorities. A key area of focus of our roadmap was improving the organisation's capability and visibility as it pertains to data privacy and security. We designed and implemented an organisational wide set of trainings, clear IT processes, policies and documentation as well as establishing a risk register to prioritise and focus our activities appropriately. In addition to this we led enterprise projects relating to managing our operations as well as starting to build out our business intelligence capabilities in the digital space.
Systems And Architecture Lead
In this role I led two enterprise level digital transformation projects that involved leading cross functional teams to deliver large scale system transition and transformations. One of these projects involved moving our fundraising and finance business units from disparate systems and spreadsheets into a cloud based relational database to manage our donor solicitation, stewardship and revenue reconciliation strategies in a holistic, consistent and scaleable manner. This also involved a complex, multi-source and data structure data migration. In addition to this enterprise projects, I led the management and optimisation of our existing databases with the goal to improve the inter-connectivity and performance of our architecture as well as improve the value of our investments.
Data Analyst
As a data analyst, I led the development and implementation of new processes to collect, manage and interrogate data from across the organisation to inform and empower better decision making. We developed custom applications and interfaces to support end users in capturing better quality data in real time that was accessible and usable by the whole business.
Project Coordinator
I was responsible for project managing a remote school rebuild project in Nepal. We were rebuilding earthquake-resistant schools in remote communities after the devastating earthquakes in 2015. At this time we were working during a fuel crisis and big part of my role was creatively solving challenges arising due to supply chain issues to prevent timeline issues and ultimately keeping the project on budget. In this role I managed a team to deliver our build on time and on budget; I was accountable for full cycle project management including tracking and monitoring the budget, all logistics and coordination of physical and human resources for the project as well as communicating critical risks to our international director of operations.
Project Coordinator
We worked in extremely challenging circumstances and often had to find imaginative and innovative ways to solve work site problems with the limited resources we had. In addition to running all the logistics for the 42 sites in our CORE home programs, I helped refine and develop accurate timelines and margins. I was responsible for ensuring the technical excellence of all stages of our build process and spent my time developing improvements in approach and efficiency to better serve the community needs. Safety on site is always a principle concern, and I implemented clear site safety protocols .I lead our teams of carpenters and masons, and helped develop a training program to build capacity in local workers. In conjunction with our senior carpenter and mason, I built dynamic work flows to adapt to material and/or manpower shortages.
Site Supervisor
I was responsible for the groundwork, foundations and WASH aspects of our CORE Homes program in Tacloban city. I led the logistics for transporting our volunteers, carpenters, masons, tools and materials to 42 distinct home sites in the semi-urban setting of Barangay 83c. During the groundwork, foundation and WASH stages of our build I took point on training our Team Leaders in the necessary technical skills and ensuring all aspects of the build were completed to the exact specifications. I helped liaise with our senior carpenters and masons to support specific tasks on site to keep on track with regards to our timeline and budget.
Tutor
I worked with over 20 students in 1:1 settings, tutoring them to achieve their desired results in key school and university examinations, including GCSE, A-level, International Baccalaureate and University examinations. I worked across Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Through these sessions our goal was to equip each student with lifelong skills to aid their academic progression rather than over focusing on exam preparation.
Intern
Fantastic opportunity to improve my written and oral communication skills in Spanish whilst being immersed in the Bolivian culture. My primary responsibilities included researching and writing articles for the magazine as well as gaining experience in photography and marketing.
