I am currently undertaking my second year of studying Nutrition and Dietetics at Griffith University. My motivation to engage in this field of study stems from my personal values of maintaining physical, mental and spiritual health to the uttermost highest quality. In the future, I would like to use my studies to implement holistic health care approaches and focus on disease prevention within the health care setting. In addition to my studies, I engage in part time work at a whole food, plant-based restaurant where I can extend the depth of my knowledge to the broader community. I have 5 years experience in customer orientated hospitality roles, where I have developed a number of essential transferable skills. Some of these include:- communication: I am able to communicate with customers, colleagues and peers in a professional and personal manner, for example when communicating menu items to a customer-problem solving: I am able to use my knowledge and common sense to remain calm and solve problems in a clear and coherent manner, for example when a customer is dissatisfied with their meal.-organisational skills- I am able to maintain a work/study/life balance through organising my day in a logical way.These skills are essential and will be transferable to any future profession.
