Assistant Recreation Coordinator
CurrentAssisted in the scheduling, planning, and coordination of Summer programming to increase Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the Waterfront, connecting local community members to a month long free outdoor recreation program consisting of weekly water excursions. Aided in grant writing, research, budgeting, and data reporting for the California State Parks Outdoor Equity grant and the California Air Resources Board Commercial Harbercraft grant. Attended public outreach events as a City Representative, providing information to the public on the Marina and Waterfront and surveying program participants to develop program feedback. Provided technical, website, contract and payment support for new & existing slip holders. Designed educational outreach material, promotional material, and project presentations using Canva, Adobe Express, and Microsoft Publisher regarding waterfront amenities, community fairs & promotions. Consulted local businesses through the permit application process from the official draft to monthly maintenance while working to expand them into license agreements.Acted as liaison between nonprofits applying for slip fee waivers, advising them through the application process and required presentations to the Berkeley Waterfront Commision, and assisted with updating current local legislation to better monitor and maintain this process. Trained in operating boats on a regular basis to perform standard duties. Successfully completed USCG Oil Spill Response training.
