Fluent in French, Portuguese, Spanish, and English, I bring a multicultural perspective to my work as an educator and counselor.I initially pursued a career in Chemical Engineering, earning my degree in 1999 and gaining valuable experience in the field. However, my passion for education led me to transition into teaching, where I spent 12 years in the classroom. During this time, I taught AP Physics and pre-engineering courses (PLTW) in both Texas public and private high schools.Driven by a desire to further my impact in education, I pursued a Master's degree in Education with a focus on Curriculum and Instruction. This advanced degree equipped me with the knowledge and skills needed to enhance my teaching methods and support my students' learning.In 2018, I made a pivotal career shift by joining the UCLA College Counseling program. Here, I obtained certification in college counseling, further expanding my expertise in guiding students through the college application process. Shortly thereafter, I joined Alma Mater Education, where I have served as an independent college counselor for the past 5 years.In my role as a college counselor, I have the privilege of working with students from diverse backgrounds, including Europe, Latin America, the United States, and the Middle East. My multilingual and cultural understanding abilities have been invaluable in connecting with students and families from various cultural and linguistic backgrounds, providing them with personalized support and guidance as they navigate the college admissions journey.
