I created Hypopara Mums in 2020, as a support network for women living with the rare endocrine condition, hypoparathyroidism and who are going through pregnancy, breastfeeding and beyond into menopause. The website is a resource full of useful information to help empower hypopara mums on their pregnancy journey. The website works alongside the ‘Hypoparathyroidism: Pregnancy and Beyond’ public Facebook page (searchable via ‘@thehypoparamum’) and the ‘Hypopara Mums’ private Facebook support group. To date, the Private Facebook Group has 269 Members from 38 countries.I am actively involved in postgraduate medical education and exams, participating in the MRCP(UK) (Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom) diploma, Part 2 Clinical Examination (Practical Assessment of Clinical Examination Skills - PACES) which is designed to test the clinical knowledge and skills of trainee doctors wishing to enter higher specialist training. Alongside the lecturers, my part is to help educate the junior doctors about the connection between calcium metabolism and pregnancy & breastfeeding, from a patient perspective and lived experience.

I am an active patient advocate for the rare endocrine medical condition called hypoparathyroidism.• I participate in Postgraduate Medical Education and have trained over 2000+ junior doctors about the connection between calcium metabolism and breastfeeding as part of their PACES exam (Practical Assessment of Clinical Examination Skills)• I advise companies with a special interest in disease management specifics from a patientperspective• I have featured in awareness videos and have participated in a podcast series• My son as a newborn and I feature in the patient information leaflet accompanying the first ever clinical guidelines on the treatment of hypopara, published by the European Society of Endocrinology in 2015• A pharma company produced a 'Living with chronic hypoparathyroidism - patient survey'. My case study features therein• I gave a patient voice on the design of a clinical trials protocol for a new medication • I have spoken at endocrinology conferences in the UK and Europe to over 1000 medical professionals sharing my personal story of living with hypopara• At the ECE 2017, I participated on the panel for a Q&A session with Professor Lars Rejnmark (Aarhus University, Denmark) and Professor Jens Bollerslev (Oslo University Hospital, Norway), both of whom were involved in writing the European Guidelines on managing hypopara• I shared my experiences of hypopara to help build understanding amongst clinicians at their ‘lunch & learn’ event
