* Engaged with MPs and peers to deliver the organisation’s messages directly into the corridors of power, ensuring that its work was regularly referred to in Parliament* Led the team promoting the TPA’s work to the media through press releases, working with individual journalists on exclusives and handling press queries for quick turnaround

* Was the first journalist to leave a national newspaper to work full-time in the blogosphere and also the first blogger to be accredited as a parliamentary Lobby journalist* Covered David Cameron’s rise to power and the first year of the Coalition Government with daily analysis about developments in Tory politics * Regularly prepared daily email bulletin

* Filed a monthly political column for one of the UK’s leading men’s magazines

Founded the campaign to ensure overnight counts at the 2010 General Election when Returning Officers were pressuring for Friday counts. Secured a change in the law that guaranteed overnight counts after intense coalition-building, social media campaigning, the use of traditional media and parliamentary lobbying, despite having no budget.

* Contributed to and occasionally edited the diary column in what was at the time the UK’s best-selling broadsheet newspaper* Undertook occasional Sunday shifts with the paper’s Lobby team and helped cover the 2005 Conservative leadership election, keeping the most accurate lists on Fleet Street of who was backing whom

* Worked out of the Westminster newsroom, preparing detailed briefings on political issues * Gained first live on-air broadcast experience as an in-house expert on the Conservative Party and Northern Irish politics* Gained experience in TV/radio production and worked on election results programmes
