Greetings, my name is Isaiah Phillips and I am a 4th year Sociology major and psychology minor from Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights, KY. Postgraduate, I plan to get my masters in either Human Resources Management or Industrial and Organizational Psychology.Throughout my college career, I have served my university as its Student Body President & Student Regent for the ‘23-‘24 academic years. I am also a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., where I’ve served my chapter as the Vice Polemarch (Vice President), and regionally as the South Central Province Junior Vice Polemarch. I’ve gained numerous skills that I believe adequately prepare me for today’s workforce such as recruiting/ developing, public speaking, interpersonal communications, creative design, and fundraising. As a dedicated student, I am deeply passionate about enhancing the work around me for everyone, especially people of color. I’ve been very involved with Northern Kentucky University DEI efforts during my time here, from serving as a mentor to incoming black students, hosting events that inform students on legislature planning to attack DEI, and even sitting on panels to share my perspectives on DEI from the lens of a college student attending a predominantly white institution. My dream is to one day work for a corporation as either a Human Resources Manager or an IO Psychologist tasked with recruiting diverse talent to said company and developing them to become a positive contributor to our workplace environment.
