Raised in a unique homeschooling environment as a military kid, I had to rapidly learn communication, relationships, and management when I entered the corporate world at a young age. Despite being an introvert with communication as my lowest-ranked strength on Clifton StrengthsFinders, I discovered that value and depth, rather than dominance of words, lead to success. So I learned what communication means under the hood... its subparts, from a brain science and classical rhetoric perspective, and turned my greatest weakness into a great strength.Through years of high stakes experience, I've built service lines, closed multimillion-dollar deals, and coached individuals from CEOs to pro athletes to entry-level leaders in effective communication and leadership.I've obsessed with finding, learning, and applying generous/excellent business practices since age 15 and tried them out in the pressure-cooker: leading high-tech startups, turnarounds, national security programs, starting every department of a business from scratch, and consulting up to the tippy top of Fortune 10s versus McKinsey, Booz Allen, and major consultancies. Corporate Executive Board chose my work as their strategy case study of the year in 2015 and I've personally trained literally hundreds of sales professionals to transition from transactional to strategic sales.Next Up Leader represents honing a method that combines brain science, wellbeing, intention, and values to help people achieve authentic success in business and life. I believe in the power of giving, and I'm excited to share my approach with others, empowering them to accelerate their results, joy, and impact.I've collected the frameworks whereby I help turn ideas into plans, plans into products, people into executives, and executives into people. In the end, I’ve learned two things:1. Wisdom is the courage to do things simply.2.
