Commissioning Engineer working with the Technology and New Capabilities team in trialling the Alpha Active Demonstrator, whose purpose is to remotely laser cut Alpha contaminated gloveboxes.Completed hydrogen DSEAR assessment of an electric pallet stacker to be used in contamination controlled area.Produced scoping documentation for project learning objectives for the next financial year. Mechanical Engineer at Magnox technical function, acting as a consultant to sites as well as delivering technical work in aiding future missions.I lead on the research, methodology, trials, and subsequent strategy for CO2 monitoring initiative to analyse the effectiveness of different CO2 monitoring devices in determining ventilation flow within a room (therefore linking to risk of COVID-19 transmission). I chose representative office spaces for trial, and conducted experimental trials, using ideal gas law calculations to validate the accuracy of the monitors.I conducted and reported on humidity and temperature monitoring within a concrete box encapsulation plant, demonstrating that packages are stored appropriately according to industry guidance (CIBSE A).I produced a commissioning strategy report for the ventilation system of a legacy waste containing building, tying in the in-bleed installation and vent bypass works for successful design, manufacturing, and installation of plant.I produced a technical advice note to review and validate calculations which justify hydrogen dispersion through concrete boxes through buoyancy driven flow. This had implications for future safety case fault scenarios of concrete box curing, leading to lowering of redundancy requirements.

I had ownership of technical queries and design changes, as well as input and experience in reviewing key documentation.I prepared and presented gated design reviews for design hold points of major projects. I demonstrated, through the document pack and presentation, a deep understanding of the system and robust document control, giving confidence to site design authority and key regulators.To meet various waste project needs, I refined requirements for bowsers to transfer effluent across site. I produced a technical specification for contractors, and lead the progression to concept design.
