With over 20 years of professional experience, I have diverse range of skills and expertise, and demonstrated track record in advocating for human rights, promoting gender equality, and addressing discrimination, extensive experience providing strategic advice and guidance on gender-related issues, including gender mainstreaming and women's empowerment. I am also a lecturer for several modules including Sustainable Economic Development, Business Policy and Strategy, Public and Private sector Development, Econometrics, statistics and Agricultural Economics and Research Methodology. With Strong research background focusing on human rights, gender, conflict, and social issues, skilled in building and maintaining collaborative relationships with government entities, civil society organizations and other agencies to promote effective partnerships and cooperation. I am an expert in delivering training programs on gender-sensitive land rights, land administration, and sustainable land management practices. Before becoming the Minister of gender and Children’s Affairs, I was the National Network Coordinator, who serves as the institutional and administrative head of West Africa Network for Peacebuilding in Sierra Leone (WANEP-SL) and has vast knowledge in designing and implementing early warning and response systems to prevent conflicts and respond to emerging crises promptly; with a proven expertise in facilitating peace processes, managing conflicts, fostering dialogue to promote reconciliation and sustainable peace; and proficient in designing and implementing conflict prevention strategies and peacebuilding initiatives to promote stability, social cohesion, and sustainable development and knowledgeable in disaster risk reduction, emergency preparedness, and effective response coordination in crisis situations. i also served in some capacities as the gender coordinator in one aspect or another. I worked as a World Bank consultant in Sierra Leone, very good at integrating safeguards and social inclusion principles into development projects and policies, ensuring the protection of vulnerable populations and promoting social equity; proficient in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks in various contexts, including conflict zones and complex environments. I also served as a consultant for other UN agencies ( UNICEF, FAO, UNAIDS, UNDP, UNFPA and UNWOMEN).
