Co-created and facilitated a pilot program focused on enhancement of Active Older Adult’s (AOA) online skills at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg YMCA: Brace, Simmons, and Stratford-Richardson). Identified a local population that would benefit from developing skills to navigate online health information, and developed a six-week module intended to assess and enhance target populations’ skills at accessing and evaluating online health resources. Secured buy-in through a cultivation of relationships between Digital Charlotte, YMCA stakeholders, and volunteer members of the AOA community; and executed the pilot-program, successfully raising the online skill level for 28 AOAs and fostering digital awareness for this underserved population.
