I spent the Summer abroad in Tel Aviv, Israel through an internship program in conjunction with Onward Israel. Throughout the program, I was tasked to improve myself both professionally and personally by learning relevant career skills in an international setting.As a communications intern for Tel Aviv Global and Tourism, I helped in the fields of public relations, social media marketing, and web development. I helped update the website with events going on in the city in order to boost SEO and draw in more tourists. We utilized keywords to increase the reach of events. On the social media side, I created viral reels, Instagram posts, and stories to share information about the city with potential tourists. Throughout the three months, we surpassed KPIs and increased the Instagram reach by 9%, page visits by 14%, and grew the following by 4%, or 3,000 followers. For public relations, I helped with campaigns for global events such as the Pride parade and the Vegan festival through crafting responses for media outlets such as Forbes.

Throughout the semester, we worked in a public relations agency setting for our client the State Forty Eight Foundation. We started off by creating a communications audit of all of their previous work. Then we got straight into public relations campaigns for the nonprofit! Throughout the semester me and my team wrote 30 different pitches that we sent to 20 different local and national news outlets. We also wrote calendar alerts and published calendar listings. Our work helped the nonprofit appear in 3 broadcast segments, 1 podcast, and 3 print/digital features. These media placements yielded success at events that included over $25,000 raised at their annual fundraiser.
