Working in the SimBioSys (Simulation of Biomolecular Systems) lab at Northeastern under principal investigator Srirupa Chakraborty. Assisting the development of new methods to explain antigen-antibody interactions of spike glycoproteins using statistical analysis and machine-learning. Employed bash scripting, Visual Molecular Dynamics (VMD), and GROMACS to calculate binding energy between a given antigens and antibodies to identify trends across many structures. Used Biopython to extract amino acid interactions between antigen and antibody protein chains in PDB structures. Worked in the "SabLab" at the University of Washington under principal investigator Ramkumar Sabesan. Worked on a machine-learning algorithm to classify photoreceptor cells in images of the retina. The ultimate goal was to be able to count the number of cells and their locations in an image without human input. Learned about the basics of machine learning (TensorFlow) and neural networks in Python.
