As a Natural Resources Planner, I assess violations of the Safe Drinking Water Act and Water Appropriation and Use permits. I implement the appropriate enforcement action for violations.

My job as a Park Naturalist is to serve as an interpreter between the natural environment and the general public in order to enhance awareness of natural resources and conservation. I am responsible for the coordination and development of environmental and nature based programming for Benjamin Banneker Historical Park and Museum. I coordinate and lead various groups of volunteers in numerous environmental projects, take visitors on hikes of the nature trails, and teach school groups about native flora and fauna, and the natural environment. I also develop and plan the annual Earth Day event as well as the Summer Saturday Nature Series; an eight week long program with a different environment emphasis every Saturday. In addition, I've implemented programs to increase outreach and inform the community of environmental and nature based offerings at Banneker Historical Park.

As a public programmer, my job is to provide information to the museum patrons on the different exhibits. I perform science demonstrations on the topics of inertia, liquid nitrogen, chemical reactions, and optical illusions. I also bring out informational "Touch Wonder" carts on various science topics that are quick and fairly simple to explain. My duty is to develop an understanding of numerous topics in science that the general public will find interesting and intriguing. I also interact with visitors to make their experience at the Maryland Science Center fun, informative and enjoyable.

As a Natural Resources Technician, my main responsibility was to support the Emerald Ash Borer Response Project. With a team, I conducted ash tree inventories and urban tree sample surveys in order to determine the overall tree species composition. Inventories were specifically tailored to various cities and communities throughout Maryland. I used ArcGIS to map the boundaries of survey areas, as well as to analyze data collected in the field. Using iTree software, numerous attributes were collected for the trees including species, diameter at breast height (DBH), coordinates, height (using a clinometer), condition, and risk assessment data. In addition, I led groups of STEM students in tree data collection for Anne Arundel County communities.
