As a seasoned interior architect and dedicated educator, I bring over a decade of experience to the intersection of green buildings, urban sustainability, and inclusive design. My academic and professional journeys have equipped me with insights from interior architecture, urban planning, and Green Building Council Sri Lanka accreditation.Professional Journey:For the past six years, I've had the privilege of crafting interiors for hotels, offices, and residential buildings that celebrate well-being, heritage, and functionality. Slowly, my interest in interior architecture grew into a commitment to sustainability beyond aesthetics, a philosophy embedded in every project I undertake.Academic Passion:With five years as a lecturer at a private university in Sri Lanka, I've had the joy of nurturing the next generation of design thinkers. I believe in the transformative power of education and have dedicated my time to delivering engaging lectures on many subjects, including environmental design and sustainability.Venturing into urban planning opened up new opportunities for me to understand the magnitude of sustainability issues the world faces today. Having grown up in Sri Lanka, pursued academic endeavours in Malaysia and New Zealand, and now residing in Norway, I am fuelled by a renewed interest in advancing my knowledge in inclusive design and cross-cultural sustainability practices.Advocacy and Outreach:My passion extends beyond the studio and classroom. I advocate for slow, green living, believing that our choices shape the urban landscapes of tomorrow. I actively engage with communities by conducting workshops and delivering guest lectures, mainly for school and university students, fostering a deeper understanding of sustainable urban living.On-going projects:Currently based in Oslo, I am excited about collaborating with artisanal communities in Sri Lanka for a cross-cultural outreach project that converges all my interests.
