I have had a lot of opportunities to learn more about children through teaching, tutoring and babysitting. I have also taught as a primary school relief teacher which gave me an even deeper understanding on how each child learns differently and changes with age. With 5 years of education in Early Childhood Development and Education I can safely say that all the knowledge I have, especially on child development, has helped me in knowing which areas to focus on when planning lessons. My years in the course have also provided me with many opportunities to plan and get creative with lesson plans for core subjects such as Numeracy, Language and Literacy and Discovery of the World, as well as methods to incorporate holistic development into each activity.Personally, my best skills would have to be my patience, my ability to communicate clearly and articulately, and my aim to shape each child as a whole. Overall-shaping to me is not simply about academics.I also have education in early intervention specifically and would hone my knowledge as an educator, catering to the needs of children with exceptionalities.Inclusiveness is very important to me and I want each child to know that no matter who they are or what pace they learn at, that they all should learn to respect one another and everyone else around them.
