- Worked 40 hours a week under Boston University Professor Dr. David Atkinson to research the reverse cholesterol transport pathway- Created an expression system for a mutated version of the ABCA1 protein using a baculovirus in order to determine the structure of ABCA1 and to understand the molecular details of the interaction between ABCA1 and another protein apoA-1.

In this course, students conducted advanced biotechnology experiments, including DNA extraction, PCR, bacterial transformation, and protein gel electrophoresis. Additionally, we explored ethical and political implications of biotechnology; topics include genetically modified organisms, cloning, reproductive biotechnology, and stem cell research.
