Trade balance between Nigeria and Indonesia as at 2021 was $2.6 billion. In 2022, The Nigerian Indonesian Investment and Trade Forum, an initiative spearheaded by Mr. Ishmael Balogun was inaugurated. This annual forum aims to, and has succeeded in, attracting foreign investment into Nigeria. This initiative has propelled the trade balances to $4.7 billion with projections for 2023 to hit $6 billion. The Chamber encourages the free flow and exchange of ideas and capital between the two countries capacitated through the development of trade and investment missions, the facilitation of seminars, forums and symposiums addressed by leading authorities, industry experts and stakeholders. A serial entrepreneur, visionary businessman, and award-winning ideas generator, Mr. Ishmael Balogun founded Goldmine Global Group of companies in 2005 for the establishment of small, medium and large scale industrial development in Nigeria. Till date over 120 industries has been established across the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria. He is a USAID/NEXXT Business development service provider and consultant for the United yKingdom Trade and Investment(UKTI) in Nigeria. In his personal life, Mr. Balogun values impacting the community and empowering them regardless of sex and religious affiliation. As a dedicated facilitator, he serves as a Director and Trustee on the board of the Africa Asia Scholars Global Network(AASGON)and an International fellow of the SAIARD(SI) institute.
