Assistant CampaignerThe Woodland Trust Jun 2019 - Jul 2020Grantham, England, United KingdomBased in the Woods Under Threat section of the Woodland Trust's campaigning team, the majority of my role involved responding to developmental threats to ancient woodland and veteran trees. I submitted written representations to council planning departments in response to proposals which threaten ancient woodland and veteran trees. I also dealt with the majority of queries our team received from members of the public, providing advice and resources to help people defend their much-loved local sites from development.I also assisted in providing guidance and allocating tasks to members of the Trust’s Threat Detector volunteer network, and I supported my colleagues in building campaign actions via our online campaigning platform. Where needed I acted as additional support for wider team projects, such as the Big Climate Fightback. -
Project Co-OrdinatorThe Woodland Trust Jun 2017 - May 2019GranthamAs a Project Co-ordinator for the Woodland Trust I worked on a number of different projects, including Tree of the Year, Destination Sites, Tree Charter and the Ancient Tree Inventory.For Tree of the Year I led planning and delivery of key milestones throughout the campaign, co-ordinating activity across four nations. I supported PR leads in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and liaised with nominators and landowners throughout all stages of the competition, including in distributing tree care awards and arboricultural reports. I also oversaw the UK's entry to the European Tree of the Year competition, liaising with European organisers in the capacity of national organiser.I also provided project co-ordination and administration support to the Destination Sites programme, which focuses on improving the infrastructure and visitor offer of multiple sites. I scheduled meetings, circulated agendas and updated project documents including project plans and risk and issue logs. I was also responsible for the tender process for varied elements of the programme, through which we appointed consultants, artists and various other stakeholders. -

Research InternHansard Society Sep 2013 - Dec 2013London, United KingdomAs part of the research team I provided research support for a number of projects, including a publication on public perceptions of Prime Minister's Question Time; an evidence submission to the House of Lords Constitution Committee inquiry into the constitutional implications of coalition government (and subsequently contributed to a blog on this matter to the organisation's website); mapped the 'Westminster bubble'; and maintained an overview of political context for future publications. I conducted SPSS analysis of surveys of Members of Parliament, and of ten years of data from Audits of Political Engagement. I also proofread some of the Society's publications and senior researchers' work. Additionally, I assisted at events (including Parliament Week's Young People's Question Time and Speaker John Bercow's announcement of a Speaker's Commission), welcoming members of panels, registering guests, and manning a roving mic. -
