Bubbly, empathetic and creative individual with a passion for encouraging others to reach their full potential⭐️During my time at CentreStage, I have led many different classes within the Creative Learning programme, including Musical Theatre, Dance, Pre-School, and Additional Support Needs classes, with a strong passion for working with children and developing their learning through compassion and empathy. I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of different individuals, many with severe or complex social and medical needs ranging from social isolation to Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease, and have learned how to support them through participation in the arts and by providing a friendly face to talk to when in need. My background in Psychology has been extremely beneficial in this area, and these experiences have played a strong role in my desire to further my Clinical Psychology career.Moreover, my strong creativity and leadership skills have helped me immensely in this role, particularly in leading the ‘Dance Theatre’ classes at CentreStage, in which I have choreographed and directed shows such as ‘Salem’, ‘Dig’, and ‘Fawkes’, all original pieces told through the medium of dance and met with high praise by both the performers and audience members.Throughout my time working for the company, I feel I have been able to leave my mark personally, as well as professionally. I was awarded a 2023 East Ayrshire Young Person of the Year award in the STEAM category for my work in the Pre-School and P1-2 classes, and have been able to build close personal bonds with the families and carers of many through my friendly and energetic demeanour; something I hope to do more in the future.
